20 Things People With Tattoos And Piercings Want You To Understand
Let us clear a few things up.
Our tattoos and piercings have no affect on our work ethic or how well we perform professionally.
We still date and marry other people who don't have tattoos and piercings.
We also have a wide variety of friends, too.
We'll have bigger problems in our old age than what our tattoos will look like.
We're going to look like total badasses when we finally do get old.
We're still responsible and consider the consequences of our actions.
Not every tattoo we have has to have a "special meaning".
Quite frankly, it's no one's business but ours.
Yes, it hurt. No, we don't care.
No, it doesn't hurt right now.
Having tattoos and piercings is not an open invitation for you to touch them.
Especially in public.
You get what you pay for.
The way we feel about our bodies WITH tattoos and piercings, is how you feel about your body WITHOUT them.
Having tattoos and piercings doesn't affect our ability to be good parents.
Body modification is another form of art to us.
It's also a form of self expression and individuality.
Just because we have tattoos and piercings, doesn't mean we aren't spiritual or don't practice a religion.
We aren't trying to rebel against our parents.
We aren't trying to rebel against society, either.
In some societies, tattoos and piercings are beautifully normal.
Not all of our tattoos and piercings are for everyone to see.
What's under the clothes, can stay hidden under the clothes.
We don't expect or think everyone else should get tattoos and piercings as well.
Body mods aren't for everyone.
Asking us to cover up our tattoos can be offensive or hurt our feelings.
We like the way we are and you should too.
