The Top 10 Most Awkward Songs To Play At A Funeral

It's a sad fact of life that all good things must come to an end, and living is no exception. When a recent video emerged of a young girl saying goodbye to her goldfish by singing Fetty Wap's "679", it got me thinking "What would be the worst song to play at a funeral?" Well here is a list of 10 songs that should never EVER be played at a funeral.

  1. 1

    Irene Cara - Fame!

"I'm gonna' live forever, I'm gonna' learn how to fly". Sadly I think we'll have to take a rain check on those aviation lessons...

  2. 2

    Chumbawamba - Tubthumping

Asides from the fact that it's just generally an atrocious song, the lyrics to this one might not accurately reflect the deceased's ability to bounce back. "I get knocked down, but I get up again". No, no you don't.

  3. 3

    AC/DC - Highway to Hell

For this one the clue really is in the title...

  4. 4

    N'sync - Bye Bye Bye

"Don't really wanna' make it tough, I just wanna tell you that I've had enough. It might sound crazy but it ain't no lie Baby; bye, bye, bye." Not exactly the kind of heartfelt goodbye you would hope to receive upon your departure from this world. Then again who am I to judge your relationship with your relatives?

  5. 5

The Bee Gees - Stayin' Alive

"Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive. Stayin' alive."If the lyrics aren't enough to convince you this is a terrible choice then I can guarantee you the acoustics in the church will be all wrong for those falsetto voices.

  6. 6

Bon Jovi - It's My Life

"It's my life, it's now or never." That'll be never then...

  7. 7

Gloria Gaynor - I Will Survive

"D'you think I'd crumble? D'you think I'd lay down and die? Oh no not I!"Can't argue with that can-do attitude.

  8. 8

Nancy Sinatra - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)

"Bang bang, he shot me down. Bang bang, I hit the ground. Bang bang, that awful sound. Bang bang, my baby shot me down."The police might have a little something to say about this inappropriate soundtrack.

  9. 9

Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire

"I fell into a burning ring of fire. I went down, down, down and the flames got higher. And it burns, burns, burns."Whilst it's undeniably a fantastic song, out of context some of the lyrics might strike an unpleasant tone with the religious members of the congregation.

  10. 10

Queen - Another One Bites the Dust

"And another one gone, and another one gone. Another one bites the dust. Hey, I'm gonna get you too, another one bites the dust."You could probably still get away with this one though because it is just a cracking tune.
